FAQ250

How does a fairy become a Chemo Fairy?

Not all fairies have the special honor of being a Chemo Fairy. Fairies are selected by the King and Queen of the Fairy Kingdom to go through special training in the Chemo Fairy Garden. Once the training is complete, fairies earn their special Chemo Fairy magic and patiently wait to meet their family.

How do Chemo Fairies get their magic?

When a Chemo Fairy is called from the Chemo Fairy Garden to meet and visit the family he or she is assigned to, the King and Queen of the Fairy Kingdom bestow magic upon him/her that will allow them to make their flights back and forth from the family to the Chemo Fairy Garden.

Can a Chemo Fairy lose their magic?

Once a Chemo Fairy receives their magic, they will have it forever. Even after a Chemo Fairy is granted special permission to remain with a family forever, they will always have the magic bestowed upon them by the King and Queen.

Can I touch my Chemo Fairy?

YES! Chemo Fairies like to be cuddled and held. They like to go for a walk, ride in the car, visit the clinic and the hospital and spend time with their family. Chemo Fairies like to meet doctors and nurses, too. Chemo Fairies want to be with you when they are visiting so take your fairy with you wherever you go!

Are Chemo Fairies only for children?

Absolutely not! Chemo Fairies were created to comfort the entire family! They come to comfort everyone—whether that be a child with cancer, a parent or loved one with cancer, or even the children of a loved one with cancer. Chemo Fairies were created with children in mind but not only as the recipient. Kiddos can get in on the fun of creative fairy arrivals and treat-giving when given to a parent or adult relative. They can also receive comfort from their own fairy when given to a child who has a family member battling cancer. There are no rules as far as who receives a chemo fairy.

Can a Chemo Fairy stay with a child forever, even when they are cancer-free?

When chemotherapy treatments are complete, families can send a note to the King and Queen via the Royal Registry Page requesting special permission for the Chemo Fairy to remain with the family forever. The family will receive a royal decree announcing that special permission has been granted.
